Tell us about your company and role.

Showpo is a global online ecommerce company selling women’s fashion. As Senior Digital Marketing Manager, my role is a blend of strategy and creativity. I work with the other marketing leaders to implement online customer acquisition and retention strategies, and alongside the creative and design teams to optimise content across all channels. I’m responsible for reporting on the performance of digital channels and campaigns, and assessing them against our ROI and KPI goals. I also oversee the marketing department to ensure that all performance strategies, campaigns, and promotional calendar activities are delivered on time, collaborating closely with our digital agencies and consultants.

How would you describe yourself?

Embodying the fiery spirit of my sun sign, Sagittarius, I am a concoction of enthusiasm, passion, and depth, with a sprinkle of sarcasm. Born and raised by the beach in Adelaide, I took a gap year (or two) and traveled Europe and Asia, attended university in Melbourne and now live in Sydney. So, you could say I’ve lived a few lives, but today I would describe myself as an extroverted introvert. I’m ambitious, creative, and adventurous at heart, though I equally cherish moments at home with family and friends.

I have a love for moving my body, whether it’s yoga, pilates, boxing, running or traveling. Taylor Swift songs are my soundtrack, or i’m lost in an intellectual 3-hour long podcast on ”how to optimise cognitive function & health” (Thank you Dr. Huberman). When i’m not moving my body, I’m horizontal on the couch after a big night of socialising, usually watching Seinfeld and ordering a mexican feast courtesy of uber eats. I’m an intricate blend of ying and yang, always ready to embrace the next chapter with an open heart and curious mind.

What qualities make someone successful in the eCommerce industry?

Success in the eCommerce industry, particularly in companies like Showpo that cater to a new generation of women, hinges on several key qualities. A customer-centric mindset is paramount, ensuring that every decision is data-driven and enhances the shopping experience. Adaptability and digital savviness are crucial to be able to respond quickly to trends and technological advancements. Creativity and innovation are also key to set your brand apart in a competitive landscape. Finally, a deep commitment to customer satisfaction, inclusivity and ethical practices are vital for brand loyalty.

What has been your biggest professional success so far?

Being promoted to Digital Marketing Manager at Showpo has been my biggest career highlight! There has been so much change within the company and substantial business growth, which has been incredibly fulfilling to witness and be a part of. My favourite project at Showpo has been launching the Showpo Rewards loyalty program. We launched Showpo Rewards through an omni-channel marketing strategy, which combined CRM, PR, social media, and out-of-home advertising. The extensive project took a mix of team efforts from start to finish, including tech, CRM, influencer partnerships, and social media tactics. I loved collaborating with the wider teams and departments to develop an end-to-end retention solution that effectively promotes and reinforces the value of brand loyalty.

What causes are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about supporting women in business and helping them ascend to leadership positions. Witnessing the underrepresentation and untapped potential of women in the corporate world has driven me to want to create opportunities that empower women to showcase their talents, and redefine the narrative around leadership.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing eCommerce brands?

Differentiating themselves in a crowded and competitive digital marketplace.

What do you geek out over?

I geek out over the intersection of technology and marketing, particularly how data analytics and AI can transform customer experiences and drive business efficiency. The rapid evolution of digital marketing and machine learning tools keeps me on my toes and the prospect of being at the forefront of these developments is super exciting!
