Tell us about your company and role.
I work for Rad Power Bikes Europe as their eCommerce Merchandising Manager. I am mainly responsible for online product set up, from launches to maintenance and optimization. Additionally, I have a hands-on approach on stock control, product performance, and many, many other tasks across cross-functional teams.
How would you describe yourself?
Multi-tasker of note! Tackle what I can with what I have at hand. I like to keep myself engaged and stimulated, which can mean I try to solve the world’s problems. People know me as being a busybody but being a new mama to a beautiful baby boy has given me a new drive in life to ensure that everything I do, I do it with purpose and to the greater good.
What qualities make someone successful in the eCommerce industry?
You’ve got to have perseverance, embrace the good and the ugly, and not be scared to try new strategies, so long you test and track everything! It is so important to stay respectful to team members, yet be open to change in this volatile industry.
What has been your biggest professional success so far?
Launching some incredible projects while at Rad Power Bikes Europe to ensure we provide the best possible customer journey for our multilingual European customers.
What do you think is the biggest challenge facing eCommerce brands?
Meeting the balance of customer expectations and buying behaviors while needing to meet corporate governance principles, especially if a brand is trying to operate in multiple countries.
What causes are you most passionate about?
Environmental and animal-related causes. Coming from Africa, Mother Nature is so important and rooted within me.
What's your favorite loyalty program or subscription offering from an eCommerce brand?
Currently, it is BestSecret‘s loyalty program.
What do you geek out over?
Totally silly, but new, exciting, and complicated knitting patterns by my favorite designers. Now you know one of my most favorite hobbies!
