Tell us about your company and role.

I’m the Head of Projects at Superco.

Previously, I was the Senior Solutions Consultant for Astound Commerce, a Global Ecommerce Consultancy. I specialized in Shopify solutions and operations — I have worked with Shopify merchants since its inception so I am passionate about making the most out of the platform and bridging the gap between composable platform and enterprise retailers. My day-to-day revolves around problem solving and thinking outside the box, regardless of whether it’s for a client or for the efficiency of our practice.

How would you describe yourself?

Loud, passionate and assertive. These are all things my younger self would have never admitted to so I will add proud to that list also.

I am passionate about my job and about my own success, so I will often go above and beyond regardless of whether it’s for a more efficient process or a better solution for a client. I would also say I’m an unabashed feminist — and try to talk about feminism and equality in every situation to make sure it’s clear where I stand.

What qualities make someone successful in the eCommerce industry?

Assertiveness, out of the box thinking, kindness. I used to think it was the “innovators” and “disruptors” that made the industry but as I have grown with the eCommerce space in the UK I have realized it’s the people who actually do the work, make the connections, and solve the problems that make this industry what it is.

What has been your biggest professional success so far?

Launching a website within three months — it was a lot of hard work and a lot of teamwork. My leadership skills were put to the test at every turn but we made it happen and have a very happy client!

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing eCommerce brands?

Operating sustainably — consumers are becoming more and more aware of their impact on the planet and are demanding better from brands so any brand, from jewelry to household items, needs to be clued up and be making a plan for how to operate more sustainably.

What causes are you most passionate about?

Equality and inclusivity in STEM and animal welfare

What's your favorite loyalty program or subscription offering from an eCommerce brand?

Aromatherapy Associates — they have a tier system with different offers, discounts, and perks that just makes their already luxury experience more personalized to each customer

What do you geek out over?

System architectures — I wish I could rebuild every archaic setup I come across!
