I work with data at Dr. Squatch, which is a natural personal care brand!
How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as hardworking, passionate, and kind. I am also very much an “outdoor person” — the majority of my free time is spent in nature.
What qualities make someone successful in the eCommerce industry?
Success in the eCommerce industry can be achieved in a variety of ways. One of the most important qualities is adaptability and the willingness to evolve. Things are always changing in eCommerce, and staying on top of the latest trends is critical for success!
What has been your biggest professional success so far?
My biggest professional success was landing a job as a Data Analyst for Dr. Squatch. It allowed me to kickstart my career in a role I was passionate about, learn from incredible mentors and teammates, and move to a new city for the first time. While it may seem like “just another job,” the growth and obstacles I overcame along the way to that job were the true sources of success.
What causes are you most passionate about?
The cause I’m most passionate about is climate change. The impacts of global warming are worsening right now, and will only continue to worsen without a dramatic shift in the way we choose to operate on this planet. This is especially relevant in the eCommerce industry, where fast fashion and other harmful practices continue to be detrimental to the planet.
I encourage others who care about this cause to find a way to get involved and volunteer in their local communities!
What do you think is the biggest challenge facing eCommerce brands?
Market saturation / product differentiation
What's your favorite loyalty program or subscription offering from an eCommerce brand?
I love the custom hair care products from Prose, especially because of the education they provide around each ingredient.
What do you geek out over?
Plants! I can name more house plants and their watering schedules than I’d like to admit.
