Tell us about where you work and what you do there.
I am the Founder & CEO of Cadenshae, an activewear brand for nursing and pregnant mothers.
How would you describe yourself?
As well as running our company I am also a mother of four. My husband and I work as a team both in the business and at home. We are all about mothers’/families’ health and wellbeing, with our mission being to help as many families as we can. Our clothing is a reflection of what we stand for: empowering women at the most precious time of their lives, and enabling them to feel strong and beautiful.
What do you think has been your biggest professional success so far?
When I first stumbled across this massive gap in the market, I had absolutely no fashion experience, minimal business experience, and was pregnant with my second child. I think my biggest achievement, aside from having my four kids in four-and-a-half years, is having the determination and utter belief that if I put my mind to something — which in this case was a cause with the core motivation of helping other women in my situation — I can achieve anything. Overcoming a lack of knowledge, taking the time to learn, and taking a purpose and pushing it as far as it can go is the catalyst for creating something bigger than just a brand. It’s part of a global revolution, putting women at the forefront by showcasing their power and strength.
Where do you find inspiration?
My kids are my drive and my husband is my inspiration (most amazing dad ever). I take a cold shower every morning to help set my mind, in addition to eating well and getting in some form of movement.
