Tell us about where you work and what you do there.

I’m the Director of Retention at MeUndies. Tactically, that includes building out our channel mix including email, SMS, direct mail, referral, and packaging inserts. MeUndies has a subscription membership program, so a large part of my job is also working cross-functionally to build that program/product offering. I love that I get to work so closely with every department: creative, brand and site merchandising to optimize the customer journey; analytics to identify opportunities; finance to forecast and report on results against KPIs; and engineering to build MarTech and create a data plan for more personalization.

How would you describe yourself?

You might spot me at hot yoga, walking my dog Harold around Venice, or seeing as many live music shows as possible. Forever curious, I’m always trying something new at work and in my personal life: recently it has been learning about crypto/web3, playing mahjong with my mother-in-law, and feeding my TikTok obsession.

Innovation is at the heart of advancements in eCommerce. Do you have any thoughts or advice around maintaining an innovative edge?

I like to look at disruptors in all industries, not just eCommerce. Many times, the core of their innovative tactics and creative ideas can be adapted and applied to many different businesses. In terms of maintaining an innovative edge, I think every company, especially eCommerce businesses, need to view themselves as a tech company. Companies that adapt quickly to new technologies maintain relevance in the rapidly changing market.

What do you think has been your biggest professional success so far?

My biggest professional accomplishments have been leading and successfully executing two CRM/ESP migrations. I love building scalable systems. But my favorite part of my job has always been building relationships with and supporting those around me, especially my direct reports. Watching coworkers grow in their professional and personal lives is extremely rewarding.

What goals do you have for 2022?

To trust my intuition.

What do you think is the next big trend in eCommerce?

The importance of actionable first-party data. Customer loyalty and retention has never been more valuable.

Name an eCommerce brand you admire and why.

I’ve admired THINX for tackling period taboos with a great product. I’ve also personally had a great experience with Rent the Runway: from app experience to customer support. And Telfar for garnering hype while staying so authentic.

What do you geek out over?

Technology and innovation. Deep sea and space. The intersection of science and spirituality. And The Long Island Medium.
