Tell us about where you work and what you do there.
I am one of the founding directors and Marketing Director at Williams Commerce. I am responsible for running the Digital Marketing Agency within Williams Commerce and contributing to wider strategic thinking across the brands within our portfolio which includes Williams Commerce, Cloudfy, and Un.titled across Europe, US, and Asia Pacific.
How would you describe yourself?
I love my job and all things digital, and get a real buzz from solving problems, delivering value to our customers, and working with great people. I left my home in Australia in my early twenties for a 1-year working holiday and never went back. I also love the UK and the opportunities I’ve had to progress my career whilst living on the doorstep of the world. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling to anywhere the sun shines, and adore Thai and Japanese food.
What is your leadership style?
I adopt a hands-on, direct approach to leadership. I look for ways to bring out the best in people, giving them opportunities to flourish and build their career. Listening and seeking feedback at any opportunity is very important, helping both the business, my team, and myself to constantly iterate and evolve.
What do you think has been your biggest professional success so far?
Starting the Digital Marketing Agency and growing this to become a valued and successful entity within the Williams Commerce business. Our aim is to help our clients build multi-million-pound businesses online and we’ve stayed true to this from day one.
Our focus on commerciality, results-driven performance, and a holistic approach to Digital Marketing keeps our approach with clients fresh. I also consider the team of people I have recruited and work with day-to-day to be a huge success. Many of whom have been trained in-house from the ground up, from graduate internships and apprenticeships, and have gone on to forge strong careers within the agency.
What goals do you have for 2021?
To take our Digital Marketing offering into new international markets. We have already established a base in Singapore covering Asia Pacific. I am also excited for an internal brand refresh project for Williams Commerce.
What do you think is the next big trend in eCommerce?
I think retailers expanding their online offering internationally across new borders and using technology to access new marketplaces will unlock exciting, incremental opportunities for brand exposure and something we are already helping some of our most ambitious clients achieve.
