Tell us about your company and role.

Mejuri’s mission is to redefine luxury. Since its founding in 2015, Mejuri has disrupted the fine jewelry space by creating accessible products intended for everyday wear. Rooted in the principles of empowerment and community, Mejuri invests in high-quality, responsibly-sourced materials to create pieces meant to last a lifetime. As an Engineering Manager at Mejuri, I lead and support a talented team of engineers. My role involves overseeing projects, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that we continue to innovate in the world of jewelry and technology.

How would you describe yourself?

I’m a curious nerd who thrives on learning new things and helping others do the same.  I love solving puzzles and collaborating on solutions, and seeing that turn into something that works well and that others enjoy using. Outside of work I like to bake (especially bread), play with my dog and cat, and lately I’ve enjoyed watching the PWHL.

What has been your biggest professional success so far?

I’m quite proud of my career as a whole. I’ve pushed myself to be continuously learning and evolving both as an engineer and as an individual. Building websites for remarkable brands has been a significant aspect of my journey. Equally fulfilling is the satisfaction derived from contributing to the growth of individuals, which I find truly rewarding.

What causes are you most passionate about?

I’m deeply passionate about advocating for web accessibility. Ensuring that digital platforms are inclusive and user-friendly for everyone is a cause close to my heart. I believe that a brand’s responsibility extends beyond just providing products or services—it includes fostering inclusivity. In the digital age, web accessibility is crucial for reaching a diverse audience. 

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing eCommerce brands?

I think the biggest challenges that eCommerce brands are facing is crafting seamless omni-channel experiences and creating a distinct brand voice. Brands need to create a cohesive and fluid customer journey across online platforms, mobile apps, social media, and even physical stores that provide a consistent experience and brand.

What's your favorite loyalty program or subscription offering from an eCommerce brand?

My favourite eCommerce loyalty programs are ones that offer exclusive or early access to products as well as those who offer loyalty discounts.

What do you geek out over?

I geek out over the growing world of 3D and AR. The possibilities for creativity and innovation in these realms are just mind-blowing. It’s fascinating to envision how these technologies can transform experiences, from immersive virtual environments to revolutionizing how we interact with the world around us.
