Tell us about your company and role.
I’m an eCommerce & Growth Advisor, Lecturer, Coach @ JME Labs.
How would you describe yourself?
I like to think of myself as someone who’s bold, curious, and always up for an adventure. I made the jump from a traditional role to forge my own path—now I get to advise early-stage brands as well as teach and coach rising stars in product management and eCommerce. Staying active is a huge part of my life, too; I compete in hybrid fitness challenges like Deka and Hyrox, and I was thrilled to medal at the Deka World Championships in 2024. Plus, I love the sense of camaraderie that comes from working together, whether it’s during Hyrox team races or our annual clamming trip on the Oregon coast, where we forage and celebrate with a great meal.
What qualities do you think an innovator needs to have?
An innovator, in my view, needs to be endlessly curious and fearless. Curiosity pushes you to ask questions and explore beyond the obvious, uncovering new ideas and opportunities. At the same time, you have to be willing to take risks and learn from setbacks, knowing that every failure is just a learning and ‘redirection’ to a new path. A mix of relentless curiosity and resilience truly drives innovation.
What has been your biggest professional success so far?
Some of the highlights of my career include:
- Transforming Walmart’s Online Grocery from an idea into a reality in over 1,000 markets.
- Building Nike’s Global Apparel eCommerce division as Digital GM—launching new lines like Hijab, Yoga, and Maternity that doubled revenue in 3 years.
- Leading Vital Proteins’ eCommerce team to achieve a 30% YoY growth, culminating in a Nestlé acquisition and integration
Still, my proudest accomplishment has been stepping away from the traditional path and carving out a role where I get to advise early-stage brands as well as teach and coach emerging leaders. That bold move has allowed me to combine my passion for innovation with more immediate, real-world impact at scale.
What causes are you most passionate about?
I care deeply about empowering the next generation. Mentoring is a huge part of that for me—especially when it comes to fostering education and fitness among kids and women. I believe that by encouraging healthy habits and learning, we set the stage for a brighter, more inclusive future. My day-to-day work teaching and advising startups and rising stars is a natural extension of this, as I get to ignite that same spark in tomorrow’s leaders.
What do you think is the biggest challenge facing eCommerce brands?
I think one of the biggest challenges for eCommerce brands today is keeping pace with the rapid rise of AI. AI is transforming everything—from personalizing customer experiences to optimizing logistics and forecasting trends—but integrating these powerful tools isn’t as simple as flipping a switch. Brands need to harness AI to drive efficiency and innovation while ensuring they maintain the authentic, human touch that builds trust with customers.
What's your favorite loyalty program or subscription offering from an eCommerce brand?
I’m a big fan of Gainful’s subscription program as it allows me to personalize and customize my subscription, and there’s a true ‘value add’ with access to a dietician, vs. other programs that are purely discount-driven.
What do you geek out over?
I geek out over the latest breakthroughs in AI—diving into new research and even experimenting with building my own models. When I’m not exploring tech, I’m all about fitness, always looking for ways to boost my aerobic base and overall strength.
