Tell us about your company and role.

I have been with Dr. Bronner for the past eight years, during which my role has continuously evolved. Currently, I serve as the Ecommerce Operations Manager, collaborating closely with both our in-house and outsourced tech teams on initiatives like website optimization, CRO, new application implementation, and SEO. Additionally, I oversee our promotion calendar, manage homepage updates, and handle virtually all aspects of drbronner.com.

 

How would you describe yourself?

I have a strong entrepreneurial spirit that I bring to every role I take on. I’ve always gravitated toward smaller companies and teams where I can take on varied responsibilities and thrive in energetic, hands-on environment. When I joined Dr. Bronner’s 8 years ago our team was much smaller. While the company has grown significantly since then, it’s a family-owned business so our culture still is very close-knit and collaborative. 

What qualities does an effective marketer need to have?

Digital marketing is always evolving, making it crucial to stay updated on the latest trends. While not every trend will apply to your company, being aware of them allows you to make well-informed decisions. I also believe that empathy is key, as it’s not just about marketing a product but about creating authentic connections with your customers. Finally, being analytical and consistently tracking and measuring results is essential for continuous growth and success.

What has been your biggest professional success so far?

As a lifelong vegetarian, I struggled to find high-quality vegan shoes, which inspired me to create my own brand. With 12 years of experience in the footwear industry, I took the leap to launch a vegan shoe line. Running that company for 10 years provided me with invaluable knowledge and skills, ultimately guiding me to my current position.

What causes are you most passionate about?

I am truly passionate about animal welfare and the environment, as I believe they are closely intertwined and depend on each other.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing eCommerce brands?

Market saturation with too many emerging brands. 

What's your favorite loyalty program or subscription offering from an eCommerce brand?

We have yet to launch a loyalty program but hoping to launch Yotpo this year. We are launching subscriptions through SKIO in early Q1.
